WHAT IF WE ARE WILLING to really feel what it’s like to be human today, facing fearlessly into the realities of what is here: an accelerated extinction of species on the planet, rapidly deteriorating biosphere, epidemic health crises, and unraveling cultural moral compasses. By turning into the pathos of the world we have the chance to release the stories that hold us in overwhelm, withdrawal, despair, chronic rage and numbing out. In this fierce choice to face fully into these current realities and let our grief have expression, our hearts can finally break open and we take a step into a landscape that offers us a new dream, a fresh relationship with the problems we are globally facing, and a humble offering from our hearts in service to life.
In this intensive, we will gather in the renowned Truth Mandala as conceived by Earth elder Joanna Macy, allowing and inviting us to be fully present to the current devastations in our world. We will walk on the land in full awareness of the wounds the planet is suffering, endeavoring to listen deeply to the voices of wild nature. We will enact the powerful ceremony of a Death Lodge for our world, giving voice to the large fear that is circling around the globe. We will courageously seek the piercing places where our personal wounding meets the wounding of the world.
We will enter into dyadic exercises for accessing a deep time awareness that embraces both the voices of our ancestors and those of future generations. Together with our ancestors we will walk with questions, then tune our ears to the encouragement and council of future beings, and enact blessing ceremonies. We will call upon the Dreammaker to show us what is hidden in our collective unconscious, gathering in the mornings to share dream images and from there move out onto the land to encounter the holy wild in the aspen/spruce forests, creeks, and lakes of Fish Lake Mountain. Upon return, we’ll sit in Council, our field of awareness enriched with unexpected encounters with the invisible mystery.
Through the nourishment derived from mindful time in wild places carrying immense questions, we gather strength to respond to dying worlds with open eyes and open hearts, with vivid imagination and potent means.
Despair is replaced with an enhanced desire and ability to embody our love for the earth ~ inspired
